Mama's Boyz comic strip by Jerry Craft
The Mama's Boyz characters have been used to convey serious messages to the public such as when they acted as official spokescharacters for the American Diabetes Association's African-American Program. The comic strip has also been used to enlighten readers about AIDs (The NY Daily News); organ and tissue donation (Donate Life! America); teen pregnancy (The DC Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy); and truancy (DC Public School System). They were also used in a full-color 32 page comic book to teach kids about leukemia. Jerry Craft is one of TAP's advisors for the Art Contest.

NAACP: National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.

NAFSA: Association of International Educators
Be a strong advocate for public policies that promote a better world through international education and exchange.

NAIS: National Association of Independent Schools
NAIS serves as the national voice of independent education, advocating on behalf of its members. The association offers research and trend analysis, leadership and governance guidance, and professional development opportunities for school and board leaders.

NAME: National Association for Multicultural Education
NAME is a non-profit organization that advances and advocates for equity and social justice through multicultural education.

National Urban League
The mission of the Urban League movement is to enable African Americans to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights.

TESOL Social Responsibility Interest Section
TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) Social Responsibility Interest Section (SRIS) supports members who are actively engaged in integrating language teaching with social responsibility, world citizenship, and an awareness of global issues such as peace, human rights, and the environment. The Interest Section aims to promote social responsibility within the TESOL profession and to advance social equity, respect for differences, and multicultural understanding through education.
